January 20th, 2008 - Sanctity of Human Life Day

In a January 13, 1984 proclamation, President Ronald Reagan designated January 22, 1984 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. The date was chosen to coincide with the 11th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that legalized abortions in the United States. Reagan issued the proclamation annually thereafter, designating Sanctity of Human Life Day to be the third Sunday in January, which represents the closest Sunday to the original January 22 date. His successor, George H. W. Bush, continued the annual proclamation throughout his presidency. Bush's successor, Bill Clinton, discontinued the practice throughout his eight years in office, but Bush's son and Clinton's successor, George W. Bush, resumed the proclamation, and has done so every year since his inauguration. The pro-life community has continued to set this day aside each year since it’s inception to pray for an end to abortion. East County Pregnancy Care Clinic offers pro-life material to the community churches to assist in their remembrance of this day.

March 8th, 2008 - Walk For Life

Each spring, East County Pregnancy Care Clinic holds an annual, two-mile, “stroller to wheelchair” Walk for Life fundraiser. Participants obtain sponsors who pledge a total amount to be donated upon the walker's completion of the event. This, in turn, helps raise important funds for the ongoing operation of the Clinic. On the day of the event, walkers gather at a community park and Walk for Life while praying to end abortion in this country. Those not able to attend can walk on their own wherever they are--so this is truly something everyone can do. Not only is the Walk a fun and fit way to raise money for the Clinic, but it also makes a statement, letting the world know that the Culture of Life is alive and well in San Diego County!

May 22nd, 2008 - Golf Fore Life

For golfing enthusiasts, East County Pregnancy Care Clinic is proud to offer its annual Golf Fore Life Tournament. Whether you want to golf alone or in a foursome, this is the place for you to come out and enjoy a day on the greens! Sponsors are also needed for this important event. From Hole Sponsors to Tournament Sponsors, and several levels of sponsorship in between, we need you! Aside from the joy of golfing, the day is full of contests, raffle prizes, and nicely topped off with a scrumptious dinner and award presentation. This is another fun event that helps raise both money and awareness for the Clinic and the life-saving work that is done here.

October 23rd, 2008 - Fall Fundraising Banquet

Each fall, East County Pregnancy Care Clinic hosts its annual, semi-formal Fall Fundraising Banquet. While our Executive Director shares current and future work of the Clinic, a renowned, pro-life speaker enlightens guests with updated information and motivates us to take action. We are blessed in song by a special musical guest and often moved to tears after hearing clients’ testimonies. It is an evening of information, inspiration and motivation. At the end of the night an invitation is given to get involved and support ECPCC through the gift of finances and/or time by volunteering. This is an event like no other-an evening not to be missed!

Carol Everett is unique "at such a time as this" because she comes with an overwhelming amount of experience in the area of pregnancy termination. Carol knows firsthand about pregnancy termination, having been both a consumer and provider. Carol was involved in the operation of four pregnancy termination clinics from 1977 to 1983, overseeing 35,000 pregnancy terminations. Carol experienced a change in her life when she came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Today, she is committed to safeguarding the health of women and their babies all over this nation. She also speaks to the men and women who have experienced a pregnancy loss to offer a message of healing and hope.

Carol has been invited to share her testimony on national broadcasting programs with Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Dr. Marlon Maddox on Point of View, Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries on Truths that Transform, Pat Robertson of the 700 Club, to name a few. She has the distinction of being summoned as an expert witness in courts of law throughout our nation, testifying in Washington D.C. and numerous state capitals. ECPCC is honored to have Carol as our guest speaker at this year's fall banquet. The event will be held on October 23, 2008. Please call (619)442-4357 for more information.
